5 Tips before going to a concert

You saw that your favourite artist is coming to perform in your city. (It’s Diljit for me)

You are as excited as....a person waiting for their salary.

You booked tickets.

The countdown is on.

You’re hyped. You’ve got the outfit picked. The playlist’s on repeat.

But then... concert day hits.

You forgot your ID. Your feet hurt before the opener even finishes. You’re thirsty, can’t find your friends, and your phone’s at 5%.

You think: “This was supposed to be fun...”

If you’ve ever been to a concert, you’ve likely faced this. And if not, get ready — you might soon.

Here are 5 real tips to help you skip the stress and soak in the moment.

1. Get Your Ticket Early (Like...Now)

Let’s start basic.
Don’t wait. Prices go up. Tickets vanish. Bots are faster than you.
And if you do score last-minute, be ready to sit behind a pole.
Also, screenshot the ticket.
Twice.
Put it in your “Favourites.”
No one wants to fumble through emails at the gate.

2. Wear What You Can Dance In

You’ll be walking. Standing. Jumping. Sweating.
This is not the Met Gala. It’s a concert.
So yes, look good — but dress to enjoy.
Comfy shoes > new kicks
Layers > regrets
People are there to see the concert, not to remember you.

3. Hydration Isn’t a Joke

You will sweat.
Your body will beg for water.
And after buying ₹9,999 worth of tickets, would you like to pay ₹199 for a ₹20 water bottle?
Pre-game with water.
If you can, bring a bottle (check venue rules).
Hydration will keep your energy up.

4. The Venue Rules... Must Read

Venue rules can be weird.
One second you're in line, hyped and ready.
Next thing you know…

  • “Sorry, that bag's too big.”
  • “No outside drinks.”
  • “We don’t take digital IDs.”

Look for Bag, drinks, snacks, payment and ID policies.
And don’t forget: Some spots even scan you for vape pens or gum.
Seriously.
Take 3 minutes. Save 30 of chaos.

5. Find Your People

Truth: concerts hit differently when you’re with the right crowd.
But if your crew bails last minute or you’re new in town, don't skip the night.
Apps like Concert Circle are made for this exact reason.
It connects you with people going to the same show who don’t want to go solo either.
And hey — what starts as a concert buddy could turn into a bestie, a road trip partner, or even more.
As a great philosopher (me of course), once said, “Music brings people together.”

One Last Thing…

At least once... put your phone away.
No stories. No texts. No checking the time.
Just you, the crowd, the music.
Scream the lyrics.
Live the moment… JUST ONCE…
